We are an SEND Alternative Provision catering to children aged 4+

Our provision is dedicated to supporting children with moderate to severe learning difficulties, as well as those with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, including children on the autism spectrum. We also welcome and accommodate children with physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, and those with basic health and medical needs, ensuring an inclusive and accessible environment for all.

Children are at the heart of everything we do at HOPECFI!

Our Mission

HOPECFI is a newly established Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Inclusion Provision based in East Leeds. Our core purpose is to offer alternative learning pathways and educational support for school-aged children who are currently enrolled in a mainstream school while awaiting placement in a specialist setting; attend mainstream education but require additional or alternative provision due to complex or unmet needs; or are being home educated, with parents seeking structured respite support through a therapeutic and inclusive environment.

Our mission is driven by a commitment to ensuring that every child with SEND is given the opportunity for a brighter and more equitable start in life. We aim to provide a nurturing, flexible, and person-centred approach that recognises the individuality of each learner and supports their academic, social, and emotional development.

And it starts with HOPE.

Opened October 2024

Placement can be temporary or long term.

HOPE FOR EVERY CHILD

The areas of needs in SEND we support

Sensory and/or Physical Needs

We provide specialised support for children with hearing impairments, visual impairments, multi-sensory impairments, and physical disabilities that impact their ability to learn. Our provision is designed to ensure a fully inclusive and accessible learning environment, with adaptations and personalised strategies tailored to each child’s individual needs. Through collaborative planning and specialist resources, we aim to remove barriers to learning and support every child in reaching their full educational potential.

Communication and Interaction Needs

We provide specialised support for children with Autism and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) that significantly affect their ability to access and engage with learning. Our provision adopts a holistic approach, integrating therapeutic interventions with individualised educational strategies to address each child’s unique profile of needs. This ensures that every child is supported to develop academically, socially, and emotionally, and to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Cognition and
Learning Needs

We offer specialised support for children with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), all of which can significantly impact a child’s ability to learn. Our provision is designed to create a highly inclusive, nurturing, and structured educational environment that responds to each child’s individual strengths and needs. Through tailored teaching approaches and therapeutic support, we aim to promote holistic development and enable every child to reach their full learning potential.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs

We provide targeted support for children with Emotional, Social, and Mental Health (ESMH) needs that adversely affect their ability to engage with learning. Our approach is centred on creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that supports emotional wellbeing, builds resilience, and encourages positive social interaction. Through personalised interventions and a trauma-informed framework, we aim to promote both academic progress and personal development.

Our Goal

At HOPECFI, our mission is to support the holistic development of children with a wide range of special educational
needs and disabilities. Our services are designed to enhance mobility, learning capacity, and communication skills, including speech, language, and social interaction. We place a strong emphasis on promoting emotional regulation, resilience, independence, and positive relationship-building. Through individualised educational strategies, we support each child’s academic progress while fostering their cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Our goal is to create a fully inclusive environment that recognises and celebrates each child’s unique abilities and to empower families by providing them with the knowledge, tools, and support necessary to advocate for and care for their children effectively.
